HOW TO SHOOT A GOOD ONE MINUTE ADVERTISEMENT



You have a job to shoot a one minute ad for a client.
Don't know what to do?

Ads can be very difficult to shoot because you are telling a one minute story, yet it must be interesting to watch and all the messages and details captured in it so that your client can be happy and his product sales may increase.

The following simple steps may guide you:

Know the product:
Things like who and what the product is used for.

The message in the advert:
You need to understand the complete message.

Costumes, Locations and Properties:
You must give top most consideration to the costumes, locations and properties.
This will capture the attention of viewers easily so they don't get bored.
You must also carry out a careful recon.

The Actor or Actors:
Make sure you have a good Cast. Actors with good reactions and expressions.

The Story Board:
If there's non, create one and if there's one, then follow it.
Use it to tell the story and don't take unnecessary shots. Use detailed close up and tight shots to tell the story.

Good Picture. Good Audio:
If you want an audience to watch and not get bored, then a good picture and audio must be your watch word.  Get a good camera, audio recorder and mixer.

Post Production:
During editing, follow the story board to tell the story of the product. Good color grade and if need be, carry out an ADR in a sound studio.

I'm sure that after this little steps, your client will be happy and you will get your pay cheque.
