Election day for Seamen in Lagos

 


The Seamen Branch of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria held elections for District Officers on the 1st of December 2021 amid celebration and happy moods among it's members.

Comrade Sunday Avoseh, President of Seamen Branch over saw the great  event that was attended by the Branch Officers, the Deputy President General Bunu Abbi, other National Officers like Comrade Ode and the President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Comrade Adeyanju.

Senior officials of the union took time out to address the incoming District officers on conducts, best practices, unity and cooperation among themselves.








Comrade Adeyanju charged the Districts to tow only paths that will bring honor and greatness to the entire Union.

The Seamen Branch is constituted by 4  Districts and their newly elected Chairmen are:

Comrade Bashiru Seidu- The Lagos Industrial District.

Comrade Lawrence Aikhomu- The District 1.

Comrade Erujaroh Reuben- The District 2.

Comrade Paul Ngwan- Boat Operators District.

The Chairmen and their Executives pledged to work for the betterment of their members, the Companies they represent and the Union in general.

They also assure the Leadership of their loyalty and work selflessly to achieve the dreams of the PG for the Union. 

This is indeed the birth of a new era for the Union.

Last week, the Dock Workers Branch held elections for their District Officers in Lagos and soon the election exercise will move to other states where the Maritime Workers Union are active.
